Nueva vida / New life
Desde ayer tenemos un perrito de 6 semanas en casa que se llama Lubas como mi perro que tenia en Holanda y que ya falleció hace 20 años. Mi hija África tiene 3 meses y mirando a los 2 realmente me quedó sin palabras. Solo pensé “que bonita es una nueva vida!” Y que tiene que ver con Teaming esta “noticia”? No mucho directamente… Solo pensé que África y Lubas tienen mucha suerte de que pueden comer cada dia….Espero que algun dia haya mucho Teaming y muchas mas nuevas vidas coma la de África y Lubas!

Since yesterday we have a 6 weeks old dog at home, called Lubas like the dog I had in Holland and who died already 20 years ago. My daughter África is 3 months old now and watching both I remained without words. I just thought “how beautiful a new life is!” And what has this “news” to do with Teaming? Not a lot directly…. I just thought that África and Lubas are really lucky that they can eat every day….. I do hope that some day there will be a lot of Teaming and many more new lifes like the ones of África and Lubas!
Un desarrollo “automatico” / An “automatic” development
Cuando hace unos años tenia un viaje u otro motivo para no poder dedicarme full time al Teaming se notaba. Es decir si personalmente no tenia tiempo para visitar a empresas, fundaciones o hacer un seguimiento, el Teaming estaba completamente parado. Como ahora he estado una semana en Mexico he notado un cambio muy grande. Repasando todos los mails he visto que el Teaming se esta desarrollando de una manera casi automatica. Asi hubo mails de lectores del libro confirmandome que ya estan moviendo y difundiendo el Teaming en su empresa, Silvia Vilchez de MRW me confirmó que en su empresa ya esta en marcha y Maria José Gasso de GAES me dice que es una experiencia muy bonita hacer el Teaming con su personal y me ha invitado a una reunion internacional para presentar el proyecto a sus responsables de Chile, Argentina, Mexico y Portugal donde tambien lo quieren hacer! Es genial ver que el Teaming esta en manos de cada vez mas personas!

When some years ago I was travelling or for any other reason I couldn’t dedicate fulltime to Teaming it was noticed. I.e. if personally I didn’t have time to visit companies, foundations or to follow up contacts, Teaming was completely down. But as I just have been in Mexico for a week I now notice a very big difference. Going through all the mails I see that Teaming is developing almost automatically. This way I red mails from readers of the book confirming that they are already moving and spreading Teaming in their company, Silvia Vilchez from MRW confirmed to me that Teaming already started in their company, and Maria Jose Gasso form GAES tells me that doing Teaming with her employees is a very nice experience and she invited me to assist an international meeting to present the project to their managers in Chile, Argentina, Mexico and Portugal where she also wants to start it! It’s great to see that Teaming is more and more in the hands of many people!
Gracias Alba & compañeros / Thanks Alba & colleagues
Siempre admiro a la gente que no han necesitado un problema muy grande en sus vidas (como yo…) para tener una actitud buena y positiva. Una actitud de ayudar a cambio de nada o cosas simbolicas. Asi en los ultimos años ya he conocido a mucha gente como Alba (foto) que son especialistas en cuidar a niños como la Monica. Alba simplemente es asi, siempre ha tenido esta actitud de ayudar y la Monica siempre esta contenta con ella! Hoy Alba me preguntó como iba el Teaming en general y en Mexico y hablando con ella me dí cuenta que Alba y sus muchos compañeros realmente tienen mucho que ver con el crecimiento del Teaming. Gracias a todos ellos muchas veces la Monica esta en muy buenas manos y da mucha tranquilidad cuando estas trabajando o viajando. Sin Alba & compañeros el Teaming nunca estaría donde esta ahora… Muchas gracias a todos vosotros!!

I always admire people that didn’t need a big problem in their lives (as I did…) in order to have a good and positive attitude. An attitude to help in exchange for nothing or just something symbolic. In the past few years I have met many people such as Alba (image) who are real specialists in treating children like Monica. Alba is just like that, she has always had this attitude to help and Monica is always having a good time with her. Today Alba asked me how Teaming was going in general as well as in Mexico and talking to her I realised that both Alba and her many colleagues actually have a lot to do with the growth of Teaming. Thanks to all of them many times Monica is in really good hands which gives a lot of tranquility when working or travelling. Without Alba & colleagues Teaming would never be where it is now…. Many thanks to all of you!!
La conclusion del taxista mexicano / The conclusion of the Mexican taxi driver
Antes de regresar a casa he intentado explicar el Teaming a un taxista mexicano. La verdad es que lo captó muy rapido y hizo la comparación con las monedas que puedes dejar para Unicef en el aeropuerto. Cuando le expliqué que la idea es hacerlo con tus compañeros o amigos mientras que en un aeropuerto no sabes con quien compartes el total de las micro donaciónes me dijo …”es decir el Teaming es algo como estar juntos y unidos con algo muy pequeño para ayudar a algo grande, no?” Si señor!! Es una pena que solo he podido sacar una foto de su taxi y no de su cara. Tampoco sé su nombre pero me decia muchas cosas interesantes sobre los problemas de su pais y pensé si este taxista fuera el presidente del govierno de Mexico, todo iría mucho mejor!

Before going home I tried to explain Teaming to a Mexican taxi driver. To be honest he understood it very quickly and compared it with the coins you can leave at the airport for Unicef. When I told that the idea is doing it together with your colleagues or friends, whereas at the airport you don’t know with who you are sharing the total of your microdonation he said… “so Teaming is something like being together and united with something very small in order to offer aid for something big, right?” Yes sir!! It’s a shame I only took a picture of his taxi and not from his face. I don’t know his name either but he told me loads of interesting things about the problems in his country and I thought that if this taxi driver was the president of the Mexican government, everything would be much better!
Que maravilla! / Marvellous!
Ayer he hecho mi presentación sobre el Teaming para el personal de la fundación mexicana Teleton. La verdad es que esta experiencia ha sido una maravilla y me da mucha esperanza de que habrá mucho Teaming en este pais. Antes de mi visita ya han conseguido varias empresas (desde muy pequeño hasta muy grande) que hacen el Teaming para ellos y tienen claro que van a ofrecer la idea a muchas mas empresas y colectivos en los proximos meses. En diciembre hacen un programa de televisión anual para recaudar fondos y será un momento idela para difundir el Teaming como una opción mas de ser solidario. Estos dias me estoy dando cuenta que realmente tengo mucha suerte, sobre todo porque gracias al Teaming voy conociendo gente estupenda como por ejemplo Maricarmen y Jorge que tienen “mucha culpa” de todo esto…

Yesterday I did my presentation about Teaming for the staff of the Mexican foundation Teleton. To be honest this has been a marvellous experience and it has given me a lot of hope to much more Teaming in this country. Before my visit they already achieved various companies (small, medium and big size) doing Teaming for them and they are convinced to offer the idea to many more companies and associations in the next few months. In December they will do an anual TV show to raise funds and this will be the ideal moment to spread Teaming as another solidary option. These days I realise that I am a very lucky person, especially because thanks to Teaming I am meeting great people like for example Maricarmen and Jorge who could “be blamed” for all this…
Reunión interesante en el avión / interesting meeting in the plane
Cuando tienes un vuelo de muchas horas (como la mia entre Amsterdam y Mexico City el domingo pasado) y viajando solo siempre hay que tener suerte sobre quien es tu vecino en el avión. Como trabajando en el Teaming parece que el factor suerte siempre esta alli, mi vecina era Rosanne, americana y trabajando para Naciones Unidas! Ella trabaja en programas internacionales de sida y su marido es el delegado de Naciones Unidas en Mexico City. Logicamente hablamos mucho de sus trabajos y de Teaming. A Rosanne le gustaba mucho la idea y el dia siguiente me han invitado a cenar para que su marido conozca mas detalles del Teaming. Hemos quedado que Manuel va a dar los primeros pasos en Mexico y aparte de esto Rosanne hará difusión entre las numerosas ong’s que conoce por todo el mundo! Gracias Rosanne y Manuel!

When you have a flight of many hours (like mine between Amsterdam and Mexico City last Sunday) and travelling alone it’s always a matter of luck about who your neighbour is in the plane. But as working on Teaming it seems that this lucky factor is always there, my neighbour was Rosanne, American and working for United Nations! She works on international aids programs and her husband is the aerea manager of United Nations in Mexico City. Logically we talked a lot about their jobs and about Teaming. Rosanne liked very much the idea and the next day she invited me for dinner together with her husband so that he could learn more details about Teaming. Manuel will do the first steps in Mexico and apart from that Rosanne will spread Teaming amongst the numerous ngo’s she knows all over the world. Thanks Rosanne and Manuel!
Unos dias en Mexico / Some days in Mexico

Hoy ha sido un honor poder hablar con Pedro Candjimbu de Angola que preside “Ayuda Africa Ayudarse ( http://www.ayudafricayudarse.com/ ) y es un autentico luchador. Es dificil transmitir en este blog como Pedro cuenta sobre su pais, su continente, su infancia, su familia, los problemas y (mas importante) las soluciones! Era emocionante y sobre todo motivador estar con Pedro que ya hace maravillas con 50 Euros al mes mientras con cantidades mas grandes creo que haría milagros! Por eso tambien ya esta moviendo el Teaming con sus contactos y logicamente le ayudaré y apoyaré donde y como pueda. Today it was a big honor that I could talk to Pedro Candjimbu from Angola who is leading “Help Africa Helping Themselves” ( http://www.ayudafricayudarse.com/ ) and he is an absolute fighter. It is difficult to transmit on this blog how Pedro tells about his country, his continent, his childhood, his family, the problems and (much more important) the solutions! It was emotional and especially motivating to be with Pedro who already does marvellous things with only 50 Euros per month, whereas with bigger amounts I think he would make miracles come true! Therefore he is also already moving Teaming with his contacts and logically I will help and support him wherever and however I can. Before knowing Pedro various persons talked about “Sir Pedro” and since today I understand why…
Invitación para Madrid / Invitation for Madrid
Hoy he conocido a Carlos & Carlos de la fundación Opening ( http://www.openingfundacion.org/ ) y ha sido muy interesante escuchar de que manera estan luchando para los derechos humanos y ademas las cosas que ya han conseguido. Creo mucho en estos micro proyectos que al final pueden ser macro si poco a poco van entrando los recursos para realizar sus sueños. Por eso ellos tambíen han decidido a mover el Teaming con las empresas que ya conocen y me han invitado venir a Madrid en la primera semana de agosto para visitar conjuntamente sus candidatos a poner en marcha el Teaming. Today I met Carlos & Carlos form the Opening foundation ( http://www.openingfundacion.org/ ) and it was very interesting to hear about the way they are fighting for human rights and about the things they already achieved. I do believe very much in these micro projects which in the end can be macro provided that little by little the funds are coming in to realise their dreams. Therefore they also decided to start moving Teaming with companies they already know and they invited me to come to Madrid in the first week of August to visit together their candidates to initiate Teaming. Great! I’ll be there…
